Pink for the Cure

Well I sure do hope your family is feeling good.  My kids are home sick and my DH has the stomach flu.  On the weekend my family decided to do something drastic to their hair for the cure.  My daughter Paige and my husband are participating in the 'Hair Massacre' in support of research for the cure to cancer.  You see we have lost to Aunties in a 14 month period due to lunch cancer and numerous other relative from cancer.  So they went pink then my DH will get his hair shaved off.  Here are some before and after pics of the event on Saturday and I did an MDS page of the event.

Don't forget to stop by tomorrow as I am participating in the Sudsol Blog Tour!

See you tomorrow at the tour!!!

Love is in the Air!

I have been extremely busy these last few days working on a project using our new 'Love Impressions Rub Ons' available in our current Occasions Mini Catalog.  I made 20 3 x 3" cards and decorated them using the rub ons.  My daughters will be using them to give their friends on Valentine's Day!

As my daughter's say, "Easy peasy, lemon squeezey!"  They weren't kidding and to store them with their envelopes I made a little box for them using our Scalloped Envelope Bigz die.

Don't be shy and order yours today!  Have a great day!!

Memories

You know this is a the start of a new year, you make resolutions, you think positive thoughts, and you hope things are better or get even better than last.

You don't expect to think that bad things will happen so soon and when you look back and see how things have changed over a small period of time.  If you are wondering what I am talking about you have probably seen the news lately and wonder what on earth is going on.  Bad weather, unusual bird deaths and so forth.

I don't mean to be sounding so sad but this morning and late last night I received some very bad news and find myself AGAIN making more sympathy cards.  You see this morning I lost a Great Uncle to cancer, I am going out of town this weekend to visit (hopefully, if she makes it) my Aunt who is dying of lung cancer.  This is a second Aunt to die of this disease in the last year and half.  In fact I have lost 4 family members and one family friend during that time.  Sooo that being said I am sharing with you the card that I made multiples of with you.  Our Stampin' Up! stamp set Thoughts and Prayers has been used an awful lot lately, take a look...

I have always preferred the simple and yet elegant cards and this is why I do them.  So if you are a newsletter subscriber there will be a delay to my mid month issue and the same with my online class will also be delayed.  The next time you hear from me I will be in more of a jovial mood and all I ask of you this weekend is to hug the ones you love, including the furry ones  LOL.

Blog Candy Winner

Wow I don't know where you live but here in Edmonton we are getting slammed with the snow then we are supposed to be in a deep freeze.  Welcome to January LOL.

Well congrats to the lovely lady with the name Paul, Cheri, Gracie and Lizzie who won my blog candy of the punch.  There were only two comments but both were very touching and really hit my heart.  Get back to me so I can send you the punch.

Also you will notice my 'sign up for my newsletter' post above, I am on a campaign to increase my newsletter subscribers and get a FREE gift in doing so.

Right now I am working on a special tutorial project that will be on sale later this week.  This will be my first one and I am really, really excited about it.  So stay tuned for it's release date, you are going to love it!

Well I have mentioned that I am not the best person to do New Year's Resolutions as I had hoped to have postings all the time, I will get better at it LOL.

Of course I have one more MDS page of our Christmas so enjoy it and I hope you are doing yours too!

Stay Warm!

Blog Candy for 2011

Well I have to say that the wine I got for Christmas and creativity just don't go together LOL.  I didn't drink anything on New Year's Eve as I discovered that mixing eastern and western cuisine don't mix. At least not for me.

I want to know what you did for New Year's this year, did you spend time with your family, did you go to the movies or did you do something creative like scrapbook your Christmas holidays.  As you can see by my earlier post I already did that but have more to do.

Leave a comment about what you did for the holidays and win a chance to get this Scallop Border punch for free!  That's at least a $22.95 Canadian value for FREE!!  I will make the draw at 6:00PM MST on January 8 using the site called random.org for the lucky winner.  Here is the picture (courtesy of Stampin' Up!) of the Scallop Border Punch.

Good luck!  Happy New Year!
